Individual Counseling

Individual Counseling is an ongoing, collaborative process in which you can explore factors in your life that create mental distress.  At Arukah Center we will work with you to create helpful change that will improve the quality of life by increasing your self-awareness, building connections in relationships, and developing effective ways of coping and living.

Our integrative approach is designed to help you cope with challenges and learn healthy ways to deal with things like:

  • Addiction

Arukah Center’s counselors are adept at identifying underlying causes of “addictions” and designing a plan to address the addiction.

  • Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety disorders can strike anyone and the accompanying distresses they create can inflict a staggering toll on individuals and family members. Our goal in counseling is to teach effective coping solutions to help you overcome anxiety.

  • Mood Disorder

About one in ten Americans suffer from a mood disorder.  Arukah Center offers treatment of depression, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders.

  • Women’s Mental Health

Some mental health concerns are unique to women, such as post-partum depression and other mental illnesses linked to physical changes, hormonal fluctuations, and life-altering events. Arukah Center strives to promote and enhance women’s mental health and well-being.

  • Co-Occurring Disorders

Co-occurring conditions, also known as dual diagnosis, are common yet complex. Research has shown that when individuals are struggling with an addictive disorder along with a mental disorder, or two or more mental disorders, treating them at the same time is the most effective approach.

  • Grief and Loss

Grief is a common emotional and sometimes physical response that you feel when you experience loss after a disaster or a traumatic event. Bereavement is a type of grief you experience when you lose a loved one. Arukah Center strives to help you work through the various stages and ranges of emotions you may feel after a loss.

  • Trauma Recovery

If you are having trouble with a distressing event, or you are suffering from flashbacks/ nightmares and find yourself avoiding situations that remind you of the event. We are here to help you grow from your struggles, heal from pain, and step forward into your life. We specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based treatment for trauma, which is proven to effectively treat PTSD and trauma symptoms.
